How does the old adage go? When it rains, it pours?
We thought we’d be able to have the house up and running again by this fall. Unfortunately, there were continuing violations of the sanctions by the undergraduates, and Purdue has extended the suspension so that now we won’t be able to reopen the house until August 2015, with a re-colonization recruitment process beginning in January of that year.

The Power of Support - A Beta Mu Tradition
George L. Olp ’68 recounts this great lesson from his time as a Beta.
He said, “One of the great traditions I learned from the house was the power of support. In the 1960's the Betas won the Purdue Fraternity All Sports Trophy every single year. If you were a Beta, you were expected to show up at any event one of your brothers was participating in to support him.

We recently came across this great story in the New York Times, featuring a 68-year-old man who enrolled in college – and chose to join a fraternity – at age 65. It’s a great read and a testament to the true fraternity values and the definition of brotherhood.

The Last Hurrah of College
Exams are over, the boxes are packed, and the cap and gown is pressed and ready for the big event. Graduation day is such a bittersweet moment in our lives, as we say goodbye to the youth and vitality of college life, and usher in a new era in our lives: full-blown adulthood.
